Clan: G5 (CL0593)

Summary

B region of SasG biofilm-forming surface protein Add an annotation

This superfamily is characterised by repeating domains, G5 and SasG-E, where the SasG-E domain is a truncated form of the G5 domain. Member domains are composed of triple-stranded single-layer beta-sheets connected by an intertwined motif, which leads to a strand switch [1]. These domain-members occur on extracellular proteins which, in Staphylococcus spp, form biofilms.

This clan contains 2 families and the total number of domains in the clan is 2507. The clan was built by A Bateman and P Coggill.

Structures

For those sequences which have a structure in the Protein DataBank, we use the mapping between UniProt, PDB and Pfam coordinate systems from the MSD group, to allow us to map Pfam domains onto UniProt three-dimensional structures. The table below shows the mapping between the Pfam families in this clan, the corresponding UniProt entries, and the region of the three-dimensional structures that are available for that sequence.
