Lumazine-binding domain Provide feedback
This is a family of putative lipoproteins from bacteria. Many members of the family are defined as having a lumazine-binding domain. Lumazine is a fluorescent accessory protein having 6,7-dimethyl-8-(1'-D-ribityl) lumazine (DMRL) as its authentic chromophore; it modulates the emission of bacterial luciferase to shorter wavelengths with increasing luminous strength. The family is related to the NTF2-like transpeptidase family.

This superfamily contains a variety of enzymes such as Scytalone dehydratase, Delta-5-3-ketosteroid isomerase, Limonene-1,2-epoxide hydrolase among others. The family also includes presumed non-enzymatic homologues such as NTF2.
